This post is a little late but here are Eli's 2-year stats:
Weight: 29 lbs 8 oz -- 68th percentile, he weighs more than 68% of 2 yr olds.
Height: 36.75 inches - 95th percentile, he is taller than most kids his age.
So if the old wives tale is true, as an adult he will be around 6'2. He is the average height of a 3-year-old and weight of a two-and-a-half year old toddler. It doesn't surprise me since he was a tall and skinny dude from the beginning.
Here are some of the fun things he does:
- He answers Yep instead of Yes
- He is putting together 2-4 word sentences. Most are: Eat this; Mommy, I'm all done; Daddy, why'd you do that?, Play dis, Go outside, C'mone, and more and more.
- He is a parrot. We have to be careful of what and how we say things, watch and listen to. The other day he chimed in on a Top 40 song. I guess I will be trading in my Kiss FM for kid's CDs.
- His imagination is running wild, literally. He loves to pretend he is a lion. He goes around the house roaring at the dogs, toys, parents and kids in public.
- He is obsessed with Toy Story. He has a Buzz and Woody that come with him everywhere.
- He loves to be outside. We swim every day since it's so hot but he likes to use sidewalk chalk, go on hikes in the park, swing, slide and just be a boy.
- He is still a foodie. He loves sausage, steak, butternut squash, grapes, watermelon, black beans and like every good Texan, chips and queso. Only we substitute the chips with Club cracker minis.
Now, the sad thing is he has started to throw temper tantrums. It is awful! And it's always over weird little things. We left for Vegas and came back to a different child. I thought about escaping to Vegas again.
He is definitely testing us right now so we have to stay strong. Neither one of us have given in to his demands but it sure is frustrating. So if it comes to mind say a little prayer for us! Patience and obedience is much needed for all three of us :)
