Garage Sale

One man's junk is another man's treasure. We had our bi-annual neighborhood garage sale Saturday and it was HOTTTTT! We started at 7:30am and ended at 11:00am.

We didn't have much, but sold alot of clothes, 2 TVs and random "treasures". Eli did a great job in the early morning hanging out in his playard and negotiating with customers. He drives a hard bargain.

Getting ready that morning. We have figured out sunscreen is the best hair gel.

Working the crowd!

And . . . just because he's cute!

A Boy and His Dog

I can see the beginning of a beautiful friendship. One night Tawny randomly brought a toy to Eli for him to play tug of war. It is very unusual for her. She usually runs when Eli looks at her.

Tawny won and E was not happy about it.
The next morning Tawny came in for some lovin' from Eli. She let him pet her and even tolerated a few hair grabs and pinches.

There are no pictures of Jewels because she still refuses to accept him into her pack.

Weekend Wrap Up

We had a great weekend at the Fisher house full of friends, family, fun and food!

Friday night we spent another evening splashing and swimming in the pool. This time it wasn't followed by 12 hours of sleep - shucks.

Saturday we celebrated Audrey's 1st birthday. I can't believe it! It seems like just yesterday we were welcoming her into the world. Her party was at the Little Gym and I was so proud of Eli. I was a little afraid when I saw all the kids, the equipment and loud music. It could be overload for him, but he was brave and played on the gym, with the other kids, on the parachute, and sat in a toddler chair to eat a snack.

Sunday --LOST watching party. We had family over to watch the finale of Lost and Jen really put the finishing touch on the party. Isn't she great!

Bathroom Refresh

With friends like Lauren and Zach I have to be very careful with my next words. I can not say bathroom update, remodel or makeover. To see why you can blog stock them at Allen Adventures . So here is my bathroom refresh. It was textured, painted, brass fixtures spray painted, and redecorated. I like the finished look so much more! It is amazing what a little paint can do. It also took me 3 times longer with my new assistant.

We also took the little man out for his first swim. The pool is still a little cold, but we warmed the hot tub for him to take his first swim. He loved it! He kicked, splashed, floated, and played with bath toys. Then he slept for 12 hours that night! I know what we will be doing this summer!
He was not interested in taking pictures . . . so this is the best we could get.

Busy Busy Busy

What a busy week we had. I am so glad I have a little trooper with me. It's amazing how in retirement you suddenly find your schedule completely booked once again!

Sunday
Day of rest :)

Monday
Eli went to my mom's while I painted our guest bathroom. I had to pick him up early because a burglary happened and the suspect tried to enter my mom's house. Scary! The Bedford police were in full force patrolling the blocks trying to find him. . . but they never did.

Tuesday
Grocery store, laundry and Life Groups that night. My mom tried to brave both boys - but little E was having nothing to do with it. Jen and I took turns upstairs baby sitting.

Wednesday
Drove out to Decatur to get my oil changed at the dealership then to Paradise to visit my grandparents. Thank goodness for GPS because we drove county roads almost the entire way!

Thursday
Lunch with Lauren and then some cardio! I am trying to get back into running. I also spent the afternoon chasing ducks out of pool.

Friday
Martin's Housewarming! It was so much fun to see all our friends and celebrate the Martin's new gorgeous home. Eli was great too! He fell asleep in my arms and we were able to stay out until 12:30am. He was also gracious enough to sleep until 8:00am Saturday morning.

Saturday
I almost showed up for a baby shower that is scheduled for next week. Instead we did yardwork, pressure washed the side of our house, went to lunch with Brent's family, watched 2 movies AND booked our flight to Copenhagen -- yes, I get to go to Denmark with Brent. PARTY TIME!
Whew! This week started off great! For Mother's Day, Brent and Eli surprised me with a spa pedicure at the Gaylord. That is way better than my normal shopping mall strip pedi.
Mother's Day last year

Happy Mother's Day 2010!

Duck Season

We have new pets. . . unwelcome pets. For the last 2 weeks we have had visitors that come and go as they please. I don't know where they came from, but I do not want them to make a permanent home in our backyard.

Our dogs aren't much of a deterrent since the ducks are actually bigger than them. We might have to call Brad if they don't make their way down to Bear Creek park.

Notice that one of the ducks is giving me the stink eye!
