You Know When . . .

You know you are raising a boy when . . .

- You are out to eat and he watches the Mavs game the entire meal with little interaction.

- You open a box of crayons and he immediately pulls out the pink one to throw it away.

- You are watching a girly show then he takes the remote and changes it to Walker Texas Ranger.

Whaaat? Isn't he too young for this behavior? I foresee my future full of ESPN and sports games.

Then, just for fun. A video of some Christmas Cheer. :)

Who Needs Cartoons?

Who needs to watch cartoons when when you have National Geographic!

Still watching . . .

And of course in true NatGeo form, the circle of life was in full effect. These two walrus were slowly drowning in the ocean because their iceberg melted and there was no room on the beach. Eli in true boy form was totally engrossed in the story.

You also don't need cartoons when you have Techno!
He was in a country phase, but we have moved on to glow sticks and strobe lights.

A New Song to Sing

Eli's new favorite song:

He knows all the body parts but I guess not in song form. This also gives all you FBCE people a chance to see why I am NOT in choir -- hee hee.

Guess Who. . .

Guess who is ready for Thanksgiving! My younger cousin, Michael, has been sending our little gnome travelling the world and time. This is his latest adventure -- Plymouth Rock.

Riff Ram Bah Zoo

Riff Ram Bah Zoo. Lickety Lickety Zoo Zoo. Who Wah Wah Who. Give 'em hell TCU! What in the world does that cheer mean? I have no idea!

The old TCU football stadium will be torn down this weekend in order to build a new state-of-the-art stadium with the $250 million donations from Alumni. So, my mom and I decided to get a few pictures of where I spent my Saturdays cheering on the Frogs before it is unrecognizable like the rest of campus!

At Daniel Myer Colosseum. One day little man. . . if you have a full ride.

Let's go Horned Frogs!

Lunch at Dutch's. One of the best hamburger places.

At the stadium!
Oh, memories of long ago. . .

Me and E

No fear. It's like he owned the place.

Bye, bye stadium.

Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween!

Where else would a yard gnome hang out?

He found a stick!

BRIDEZILLA

So, my friends and I are still huge nerds and decided to have a Bridezilla Party. We brought our wedding albums and videos, gourmet appetizers and drank from fancy glasses. We shared wedding triumphs and catastrophes, cheered as we all still fit in our dresses and danced since half of the girls had destination weddings and never danced in their gowns.

Getting ready for the big night!

The girls minus Jackie who is due in March so no wedding dress for her.

The traditional bridal gown on the staircase x8
Fun was had by all.

Since we were so glamorous we decided a trip out in public was in order. To Tom Thumb we headed. I think everyone just thought we were headed to a Halloween party. Surprisingly, not many people looked twice. Next year we will have to do it a different month. Oh yes, we will do it again as an annual party.

Brent and I were fortunate enough to attend Game 6 at Rangers Stadium last Friday night. It was amazing! It was crazy loud, an energy that I have never experienced at the ballpark, we stood the entire game, and lots of high fives with strangers. Below are a few pictures and clips.

Right after the Rangers' Win

Seats we wish we could have, but only visited after the game

Dog pile!

The last out that won the game. Everyone was counting down the outs on their fingers. You will see most people with 1 finger up.

We also had some very "enthusiastic" fans in front of us.

15 Months

Eli had his 15 month birthday and check-up Friday. Time is flying!

Right now he likes to:
Kick the ball outside
Play wall-ball inside
Play at the park -- we go every morning
Being outside in general
Hand feed Tawny - she mostly lets him
Eat bananas, cantaloupe, honeydew, cheese, yogurt, butternut squash, sweet potatoes and grapes
Eat a "real" sandwich - his favorite is turkey and swiss on wheat with tomato and mustard
Climb up on the couch all by himself
Pick up leaves
Blow spit bubbles - just like a boy, huh?
Dislikes:
Being told "no"
Strawberries
Most veggies -- I hide them in grilled cheese sandwiches or chicken pot pies
Meat - again I have to hide it in sandwich form
Sunday school :(. He cries as soon as we walk into the nursery.

Words he can say:
Dada
Mama -- he often calls me dada
Mo - that's more
Ball
Ooo Ooo Ooo - that's dog. He occasionally will say dog
Baaaa - Banana
Oh-uh
Done - once he is full

15 month stats:
Height - 32.25 inches - 80th percentile
Weight - 24.3 pounds - 40th percentile
Still a tall skinny dude

What Are We Doing?

We have been up to alot lately. Our weekends have been full of activity and don't slow down until AFTER Thanksgiving. Oh well. . .

So, what have we done?

We visited my old stomping grounds -- TCU. It looks nothing like the campus when I attended. Probably because they have invested $250 million to update and construct new buildings. In November they will build a new football stadium so I wanted a few last pictures.

Rubbing the Horned Frog for good luck -- it's a TCU tradition.

At Frog Fountain

At Frog Alley -- Eli was not very impressed

Watching the band march in

Good-bye Amon Carter Stadium. I can't wait to see the new state-of-the-art one!

Last, but certainly not least, we have been cheering on the Rangers! We have been working with Eli on "Antlers".

Pumpkin Patches have also been on the "to-do" list, but it deserves a blog post all to itself.

He's Quick

Do not leave your cup unguarded!

Eli rounded the corner enjoying a nice big cup of ice water.

It's so refreshing!

Gulping it down! Who needs a toddler cup?

Ahhhhhhhh

He was nice enough to replace his cup on the coaster where mine sat.

The Last Day of Summer

We had one last swim before the official start of fall. Our pool temperature peaked at 95 degrees and it now sits at a chilly 73 degrees.

Grapefest!

My mom and I went to Grapefest Friday morning. We danced to a live band in the pavilion, played in the misters to stay cool and went to the petting zoo.

Looking at the horse

Mooooooo. Cow.

The goats were aggressive so he was not too sure about them. A few tears were shed.

Eating grapes at Grapefest.

Game Day

The only good thing about the Cowboys game Sunday was that Eli wore his Romo jersey.

Pre-Game Warm-up

Looking for a half-time snack.

Let's go Cowboys!
