Future Promise

I'm going to show this video to Eli in about 13 years and see if the offer still stands!

He has big dreams for a little guy.  That's one of the reason why I love him!

June in a Nutshell

I honestly don't know what happened to June.  It was one of the fastest months yet!  Brent has travelled 3 of the last 5 weeks, I have been blessed with a ridiculous amount of work and Eli is growing like a weed!

Here is a picture summary of our month:

Eli is full of energy.  He still loves to play hide and seek, swim, battle all his toys and go running.  He actually says, "Let's play run!"

Eli's new hiding spot!
He did not want his picture taken, but this mama did it!

We helped a friend by babysittting her sweet little baby girl.  Eli will be a great big brother one day -- don't get all excited!  He helped me get diapers out of the bag, find her paci, he even sang her a little song to help her fall asleep.

One cool dude!
Brent and I escaped to Mexico for 5 days to celebrate the wedding of a high school friend.  We did nothing but eat and tan.  It was AWESOME!  Our biggest dilemma was choosing to sunbathe by the pool or ocean.  It's a tough life...
Next up, Father's Day.  We celebrated with Brent's family by having a massive grill out.  Imagine about 20 people all with steaks on a grill.  Yeah, carnivores!

Happy Father's Day!

3 generations of Fisher men

Now, this next item makes me a crazy woman.  My mom was given tickets to the Rangers game to watch Yu Darvish pitch.  We made plans to go but then Brent had to go out of town.  What to do, pack it all up and go!  We made it successfully despite the fact I started by driving down the wrong way on Hwy. 10.
This was the best picture. . . seriously?!  He looks like I'm torturing him!

Eli cheered at all the right times and even started a Nap-o-li chant in the stands.  He had everyone around looking at him and laughing.

This time we only made it to the 7th inning but it was blast.  He was dancing, cheering, eating and laughing. He is a true Rangers fan!

Next up, BIRTHDAY PARTY!  I can't fix the picture, but you are looking at Batman.  Calling all Superheroes!

Community Events

If there is a community event in the area it is a high probability that you will see us there.  It is one of my favorite things to do and I think I have convinced Eli it's his too!

This year we tried some of the carnival rides and it was a huge success.

Of all the horses, he choose the giraffe at Main Street Days in Grapevine

It's not quite the State Fair but we did go on a Ferris wheel.  I was a little concerned since I knew 12 hours ago it was packed up in an 18-wheeler.

But fun was had by all!  On the way down each time we had Eli say, "Whoooaaaaa"

And this was probably the nastiest ride.  $4 for one time around the track and for me to sit in an unidentified wet spot.  SICK!

Animal time!  The petting zoo is a must for my animal lover.

He was feeling brave enough to feed the alpaca

A little snow cone to help us all cool down.

This was taken at KellerFest this past weekend.  Another big step in independence.  Parents were not allowed on this ride.

And another great part about events like this, live music.  You can really hear him but he keeps asking if I like the song.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

We took Eli to his first Rangers game this week.  He did amazing!  We packed up snacks, his rally rag, baseball bat and headed to the ballpark.  If you ask who his favorite Ranger is he will adamantly tell you, "Elvis."  He even chanted "Elvis, Elvis, Elvis" the entire way from the car to the stadium.

Walking in.

Hand in hand with Daddy finding our seats.

Watching the Rangers warm up

Uh, yeah.  This is all I could get when I wanted a picture of the two of us.

Cotton candy-YES!

Cheering the team on!
Like I said, he did AMAZING!  He sat in his chair most of the time, he cheered and chanted, he danced and wanted to stay until the end.  About the 8th inning we thought it was time, but Eli thought differently.  I'm glad we stayed because Napoli was the last hitter for the Rangers.  The entire ballpark chanted "Nap-o-li" and Eli was right there with them.  He even continued the chant the ENTIRE ride home.  I foresee more games in the near future!

Green Thumb

Eli and I did a little gardening this week.  For those who don't know, we have a "Yard of the Month" type neighbor across the street.  It's a retired couple that I think look at our flowerbeds and only imagine the beauty they could be.

This year Eli and I were determined to add a little life to it.  We went to Home Depot, bought our supplies, sunscreened up and started digging.
Ready to work!

Still happy!

The funny part is Eli hates to have his hands dirty.  So he was all excited until he realized we would be digging and not washing our hands immediately.  So after repeatedly explaining gardening was dirty and fun, he was not convinced and I put a water pail out for him to rinse his hands whenever he felt necessary.  Then the water was dirty, it tipped, there were tears, etc., but a little more talking it through and we got back on track!

Eli's new job was to put the garden soil into buckets so that I could mix it in with the holes dug for the flowers.  This was a great task because he could participate without using his hands.

Notice the shovel!  A great solution to the dirt issue.

He also helped me with the landscape design.  Anytime a flowerpot would fall over he was quick to stand it upright.

And finally, after a hard afternoon of work we relaxed in the shade.  Actually, Eli called it quits about 30 minutes before we were done.

Planting flowers was actually fun this year!  Thanks Eli for being a great partner!

Eli the Helper

Eli has been my right-hand man here lately.  He is becoming more and more independent.  I love/hate it!  He is maturing right before my eyes!
Throwing away his leftovers -- if there is not enough to be saved of course
Clearing his plate

Putting his dishes in the sink
He even washes his hands after dinner!

"Vacuuming" with Mommy
Putting away the groceries

Eating cereal like a big boy

And the best part - drinking the milk

Please also note my creeper dog, Jewels.  She is always hovering, waiting, watching for any scrap to be haphazardly thrown to her.

Eli the Easter Bunny

I don't think we will have to worry about any big let down when Eli figures out the Easter Bunny is not real because he likes to hide his own eggs.

Pulling them out of his basket.

Spotted! Mommy secretly taking pictures.

One of the hiding spots.

A little more camouflaged.

Just another day in the life of Eli.
