Monkey Man

My little monkey man woke up this morning asking for a "Baaaa" which translates to banana. This "Baaa" is different than his other "ba" for ball. It is much more intense and he stares straight into your eyes to make sure you understand. We are working on the "nana" part.

Bananas make him happy. How could you say no?

Please also note the milk beside him. He actually finished the entire cup. A major accomplishment at our house!

Freebies!

We have had a great week of FREEBIES!

We started Story Time at the Keller Library. It is a cute 30 minutes class every week (and free). Colton and Jen join us in our adventure. There are several babies (6 months or less) in the class. Eli is obsessed. During the story circle all he wants to do is walk over to say "Hi". We have to keep singing for him to be entertained!

Eli gearing up to leave.

He was too excited to sit still and take pictures.
Below is a picture of our new FREE sectional. I had mentioned to one of my friends that we need a couch for our game room and a few days later she called. Her parents were donating this sectional but instead of Goodwill it ended up at the Fisher house. It's wonderful and the low to the ground so Eli has a blast climbing up and down.

Eli has also rediscovered his bumbo. He spends an hour getting in and out of it. It's a great "new" toy!

Happy Birthday To Me

Sunday I turned the big 2-9. We celebrated by having brunch in downtown Fort Worth followed by a long nap and dinner with family. It was wonderful!

My birthday last year. Eli is 1 month old.

This year! My big boy at 13 months

Carmel-by-the-Sea

Brent and I just had the fabulous opportunity to spend a long weekend in Carmel, California to celebrate the wedding of our good friends Chad and Dena. I LOVE DESTINATION WEDDINGS!

Carmel was in the 50s and a little overcast, but a welcomed relief from Texas. The town of Carmel has a very European feel to it. Its downtown is full of cottages and small shops. There were no chains -- not even a Starbucks! I loved it and would want to go back.

Friday night was a rehearsal dinner of sorts at the groom's uncle's house. It is a mansion! His house and landscaping is immaculate.

Saturday (the wedding day) the girls went out to brunch and walked downtown for a little bit before everyone went their separate ways to prepare for the big event. The boys played golf at 7:00am. It was an early wake up call!

Brent and I at the beach site for the wedding. It was freezing! I don't think it made it to 55 degrees that day. The wedding was beautiful, intimate, and personal with only 30 people in attendance.

The bride and groom. They had a mini-reception at an amazing restaurant that overlooked the downtown area with the ocean as a background.

The next morning we woke up early with a few other people and went hiking in Point Lobos State Park. We were promised sea lions, sea otter, penguins and beautiful trails.

It was beautiful! The trails were amazing and we probably could have spent all day exploring.

Unfortunately, we did not see any otters or penguins. We did stumble upon 5-6 sea lions sunbathing and one dead sea lion washing up to shore. The circle of life can be so cruel!

Sunday afternoon we toured a bunch of golf courses - Pebble Beach, Poppy Hills, and Spyglass. I say toured because one round at Pebble Beach was $500. So we bought a few golf balls and took pictures.

Monday morning we took a stroll down the beach. It was really cold and full of dogs. The dogs are very social. Jewels would not last one minute! I didn't post pictures, but the houses along the beach could be compared to the size of an apartment complex. They were pretty spectacular.

Then we headed to Big Sur north of Carmel.

Monday afternoon we headed back to Texas and felt a slap in the face when we landed at midnight and it was still 95 degrees outside.

I highly suggest if you are looking for a weekend getaway in California research Carmel-by-the Sea. It's beautiful, old world and relaxing :)

Bye Bye Baby Mullet

Eli had his first haircut today! Now it's your turn Papaw!

He did such a great job. He sat in the booster chair all by himself and let Mia snip away. At the end we let him chomp on an apple so he would look down and we could clean up his neckline.

Pre-Cut

Look at that shag!
